The people are not aware of this new mechanism called multi fuel pellet stoves. They have over the years understood and heard about wooden stoves but not so called multi fuel stove. Even people who have multi fire wooden burner are also not aware of it many a times and always refer it to as wooden stoves. There is genuine unawareness amidst people over the differences between a wood burning stove and multi fuel stove.
What is the real difference between a multi fuel stove and a wood log burner?
Wooden burner is a stove or wooden device made to burn woods to generate heat or warm a house especially during cold days or in winter. The main source of fuel to be used in a wooden burner is woods of different trees whether or treated or not treated. The multi fuel stove is not much different from the wooden burner as it is also used to generate heat, cook food, or boil water. But the real difference comes in the sources of fuel. Unlike wooden burner it can use multiple fuel sources to generate heat. So, this foremost quality makes it highly desirable. As there is a shortage of fire woodl and sometimes it is hard to get treated woods or dry woods so wooden burner will fail to generate heat in case of shortage of woods. But for multi fuel stove it is not the case as it can easily produce heat by using other fuel sources like coal, charcoal, gases, pellets, anthracite, and electricity. In wood burner the woods are seasoned, dried, and cut into small pieces or pellets. The wooden pieces or pellets are than placed in the burner to lit fire for generating heat.Whereas, in case of multi stoves it is attached with grate inside to probably hold the fuel sources. It is generally frame iron bars or restraint to hold fire generated by pellets or varied fuel sources. The reason for wood burning stoves are not made with grate inside is because wood or logs can be easily burned at the bottom portion of a stove. So, it don't require grate to hold the fire. But the same method cannot be applied for multi fuel stoves as fuels sources like coal or charcoal are solid fuels with coal briquets usually getting combustible at high temperature. Hence, it will damage the metal frames or casting of the stove by binding with them. Therefore, the grate helps to circulate the air around the burning fuel source by holding them to specific position. But remember the grate needs to be cleaned from time to time as it can collect lot of ash over time and become weak or getting burned down.
